It is amazing to me how many stories I hear like this, where teachers laughed at a child, and it deeply impacted her. How wonderful that you are an overcomer! I hope lots of teachers are reading this post and see just how deeply their reactions are felt by children, and kudos to the millions of other teachers who encouraged writers! Great post.

That is such an amazing story! I am now totally PSYCHED to read this book. Main characters (especially relatable ones) are hard and I think it’s true that sometimes we have to draw off of ourselves to create characters we truly love to write and read about.
